Single-vehicle crash leaves man, two daughters injured

SIBU (Sept 9): A father and his two daughters were injured after the car they were in crashed into a tree in front of a shopping mall at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman here Sunday night.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement said it was notified of the accident at 10.16pm and rushed a team from the Sungai Merah fire station to the location.

“The single-vehicle accident involved three victims. The male driver and female passenger in the back seat were helped out of the vehicle by passersby before rescuers arrived.

“The team assisted a child seated in the front passenger seat, who sustained a broken thigh but was conscious and not trapped,” it said.

Bomba said the girl was handed over to medical personnel for further action.

The driver and his other daughter sustained minor injuries in the accident.
