KUCHING, Feb 20: Six foreign nationals, aged between 30 and 40, were arrested during a police raid on a suspected prostitution activity at a house along Jalan Stutong today.
Kuching District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the suspects are believed to be involved in the illicit activity.
“All six have been detained to assist in ongoing investigations,” he said in a statement today.
The case is being investigated under Section 372B of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to one year, a fine, or both.
Authorities are also probing potential breaches of immigration laws, including Section 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63. Offenders may face fines, imprisonment, or caning.
