KUCHING (Sept 11): SJK Chung Hua Taiton, Bau held its first Cultural Day celebration on Sept 7.
The celebration sought to preserve Chinese culture and highlight the ethnic diversity of Sarawak, the school said in a statement.
Many guests witnessed the cultural performances by various ethnic groups, charity sale, calligraphy exhibition, traditional paper-cutting demonstrations, and lucky draw.
In his speech, Transport Deputy Minister Datuk Henry Harry Jinep congratulated the school board for the successful hosting of the Cultural Day.
“Cultural Day celebration was a complete success due to everyone’s hard work and enthusiastic participation,” the school said in a statement.
The school also reminded those who purchased lucky draw tickets to check their numbers.
Winners must verify their tickets and claim their prizes from the SJK Chung Hua Taiton administration office by Oct 7.
“Claims will not be entertained after the deadline,” added the school.
