KUCHING (Aug 16): Sarawakian bowler Nur Hazirah Ramli bagged her second gold medal in the tenpin bowling competition of Sukma XXI Sarawak at Megalanes Sarawak in Batu Kawa today.
Partnering Lavinia Kho Jia Jie, Hazirah had a good game of 1,216 pins while the former had 1,176 pins for a combined total of 2,392 pins to lift the women’s doubles gold.
Settling for the silver were Intan Nor Edryana Nor Azliman and Adania Mohd Redzwan of Selangor with 2,271 pins while Johor’s Nur Ain Suffiyyah Zakariya and Anis Hannani Romzi took the bronze with 2,183 pins.
The winners received their prizes from Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian and Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu who is also the chef de mission of the Sarawak Sukma Contingent.
Also present were Amateur Tenpin Bowling Association of Sarawak (ABAS) president cum Assistant Chef De Mission for tenpin bowling Sunny Si Poh Heng, ABAS deputy president Shaifulbahri Shukri and Senator Parliament Dato Ahmad
Meanwhile, Perak clinched their first men’s doubles in 10 years through Sukma debutants Mohamad Faris Zainal Abifin and Syed Adrees Darwiz Syed Zunizam who felled a combined total of 2,479 pins.
Darryl Ariel Punzalan Soo and Muhammad Noor Hidayat Muhamad Nazri of Melaka won the silver with 2,459 pins while the bronze medalists were Muhammad Zuhair Zailani and Muhammad Hafiz Darwisy Azhlan of Pulau Pinang who downed 2,389 pins.
