KUCHING (March 5): Sunview Group Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd has secured a RM289.71 million contract from Malakoff Evergreen Sdn Bhd to develop a solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant at Sungai Likau, Bintulu.
In a bourse filing on Thursday, Sunview said its subsidiary Fabulous Sunview will undertake the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) works for the project.
It added that the contract sum is fixed based on the contractor’s final technical and commercial proposal submitted under the tender for the development of a large-scale solar photovoltaic power plant in Sarawak.
The group said while the contract sum is binding on both parties, all other rights and obligations under the letter of award (LOA) remain conditional pending the negotiation, finalisation and execution of a definitive EPCC contract.
The LOA is subject to the execution of the EPCC contract within four months from the date of the contractor’s acceptance of the award, unless an extension is granted by Malakoff Evergreen at its discretion.
Malakoff Evergreen is a 70 per cent-owned subsidiary of Tuah Utama Sdn Bhd, which is wholly owned by Malakoff Corporation Bhd.
Sunview said the project is expected to contribute positively towards the future earnings of Sunview and its subsidiaries for the duration of the project, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
It added that the project will not have any effect on the group’s share capital or the shareholdings of its substantial shareholders.
