SIBU, 11 Oct: Exposure to marketing science, business strategy and financial management through the Sarawak Youth SYstartUP Kohort 3 2026 Program helps young entrepreneurs strengthen their knowledge and plan steps to develop their respective businesses.
The eight-day intensive programme gave participants the opportunity to assess business weaknesses, improve management skills and identify appropriate strategies for expanding their product market.
For the food and beverage product entrepreneur from Mukah, Afidah Musa, the programme gives him a clearer understanding of the importance of producing quality products supported by management science and proper marketing strategy.
"Throughout the course of this program, I learned that in entrepreneurship and business, we need quality products, but also management knowledge related to marketing, marketing strategy and proper financial management.
"I'm also more confident to get out of the comfort zone, correct my weaknesses and plan for the future", he said when meeting TVS after the closing ceremony of the program here today.
He further said that he plans to reorganize his business strategy based on the knowledge gained in order to increase productivity and expand its product market throughout Sarawak and Malaysia.
Meanwhile, another participant, Mohd Nurazuwan Rali said the programme also opened up his perspective on economic opportunities in Sibu that young entrepreneurs can explore, including in supply and logistics.
According to him, the program provides exposure from basic to intermediate levels, particularly in practical aspects of financial and employee management.
"The programme greatly exposes local young entrepreneurs to knowledge from the basic to intermediate levels, including how to apply theories in practical aspects such as financial management and employee management.
"For me, employee and financial management is not a difficult thing to master, but this program can help make it easier for us to manage those aspects", he said.
Nurazuwan, who had been running the family business for nearly four years before starting his own business in the food and beverage sector almost a year ago, said he intends to apply the knowledge gained to develop the business as well as seize available economic opportunities.
