KUCHING (Sept 8): The Tabuan Laru and Tabuan Dusun neighbourhood watch committees (KRTs) jointly organised a Mooncake Festival celebration for charitable organisations at the Sarawak Society for the Blind centre here on Sunday.

Some 100 residents of the Sarawak Cheshire Home, Sarawak Society for the Blind, Sarawak Society for the Deaf and old folks’ home were invited to enjoy the celebration.

Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How, who was the guest-of-honour, said the organisers had planned various activities for the participants, including riddles games with prizes.

“It is good to organise this type of celebration and share the festivities with residents of various charitable organisations. We allow them to know about the culture of different groups of people,” he said.

See pointed out the residents do not have much opportunities to enjoy the various festive celebrations back at their centres, and the organisers hope to bring the festivities to them by organising annual events.
