KUCHING (March 2): The operating hours of Taman Sahabat along Jalan Song here will be extended until midnight on Tuesday (March 3) in conjunction with Chap Goh Mei, said Datuk Wee Hong Seng.
The Kuching South mayor said the special extension is to allow families and visitors to enjoy the festive atmosphere, as the park has been adorned with stunning decorative light displays to mark the final day of the Lunar New Year celebration.
“Chap Goh Mei is a time for togetherness, joy and appreciation. By extending the park’s opening hours, we hope families can take a leisurely evening stroll, enjoy the cool night air, and admire the park enhanced with stunning decorative light displays with their loved ones,” he said in a statement.
Wee reminded visitors to observe park regulations, maintain cleanliness, and prioritise safety while enjoying the facilities.
“Let us celebrate responsibly and continue to preserve the beauty of our public spaces. Taman Sahabat belongs to all of us,” he added.
