Tanjong Manis MP urges motorists to drive safely this festive season

MUKAH (March 16): Road users have been reminded to exercise caution when driving, particularly during the festive season when traffic volume is expected to increase.

In giving this reminder, Tanjong Manis MP Yusuf Abdul Wahab urged motorists to prioritise the safety of themselves and their families, and to ensure their vehicles are in good and safe condition before starting their journeys.

“Road users must also comply with the regulations set by the authorities to avoid any unwanted accidents,” he said, according to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit report.

He made the remarks during a Road Safety Campaign held in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration at the Old Tanjung Manis District Office on Sunday.

The campaign was organised by the Road Safety Council (MKJR) Mukah Division in collaboration with several related agencies.

As part of the programme, 100 packs of bubur lambuk and bubur pedas were distributed to road users as a gesture of appreciation, while also engaging with the public and sharing road safety messages.

Also present was Tanjung Manis district officer Ismail Kasah.
