MIRI (Sept 30): Three people were injured when their vehicles collided and fell into a 10-foot-deep ravine near SOP Gelasah junction, Niah at around 7.50am today.
Batu Niah Fire and Rescue station chief Rary Binjie said they received a call from the public about the incident at 7.50am.
“Upon receiving the call, firefighters from the Batu Niah fire station were despatched to the location.
“When the team arrived, there was indeed an accident involving a sports utility vehicle (SUV) and a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle Both vehicles had plunged into the ravine following the collision,” he added.
He said that the two victims in the 4WD, aged 31 and 25, were rushed to a clinic in Suai, while the 39-year-old victim in the SUV was taken to Bintulu Hospital by ambulance.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
