Thumbs up to Marine Police Force, agencies for smooth running of Sukma’s sailing events

MIRI (Aug 24): National Sports Council (MSN) Management Board member Alan Ling has praised the Marine Police Force (PPM) and government agencies for the smooth running of Malaysia Games (Sukma) XXI sailing event here.

Ling had accompanied MSN director-general Abdul Rashid Yaakub and MSN technical officers to the sailing course at Marina Bay here on Wednesday to monitor the running of the event.

“We had the opportunity to go out to sea to check on the course of the competition on board the Marine Police boat.

“PPM has facilitated the task of MSN technical officers to monitor and provide necessary technical services throughout the running of the event. This event is one that poses a safety risk and for this, PPM’s services as well as those of other agencies are greatly appreciated,” he said in a statement today.

Ling also congratulated the Sarawak sailing team for winning the state’s first two gold sailing medals.
