KUCHING (Aug 25): Thunderstorms with heavy rain and strong winds are expected in Sarawak and Sabah until next week, according to the latest significant weather forecast from the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
It explained that based on the analysis of weather models, wind concentration is expected to occur in the Malacca Strait until Aug 28, which has the potential to produce thunderstorms with heavy rain for a longer period.
“(This is expected) especially in the northern and central states of the Peninsula. Meanwhile, thunderstorms with heavy rain and strong winds can also occur in other states in the Peninsula, as well as Sabah and Sarawak in the evening until night,” it said.
MetMalaysia also advised members of the public to always refer to the department’s website and its official social media platforms as well as the myCuaca app for the latest and accurate information.
