KUCHING: A strong and mature Malaysia must be built on an enduring spirit of togetherness—one that embraces the unique strengths, identities and contributions of every state and every Malaysian.

State Secretary Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Abu Bakar bin Marzuki said Malaysia’s 63-year journey has been marked by diverse experiences, challenges and moments that tested the resilience and unity of its people.

He said each phase of national integration has shown that Malaysia’s true strength lies not only in its achievements but also in the people’s ability to understand, respect and trust one another.

“There is still much that needs to be done.

“As we move forward, the spirit of togetherness must remain a cornerstone in building a more mature and balanced Malaysia that values the strengths of every region and its people,” he said in his Malaysia Day 2026 message.

Mohamad Abu Bakar stressed that the Sarawak Civil Service must translate this spirit into a strong commitment to service delivery to ensure that development is genuinely felt by the people.

He cited Sarawak would continue to play its part in shaping the country’s future by contributing its own strengths, uniqueness and aspirations.

This aspiration would contribute towards building a Malaysia that is more developed, prosperous and resilient.
