According to the ministry, the company was found to have organised hajj package services for the 1445H/2024M hajj season without holding a valid hajj operator licence, which constitutes an offence under Section 27 of the Tabung Haji Act 1995.

MOTAC said the offence also falls under Paragraph 8(1)(b) of the Tourism Industry Act 1992, which allows action to be taken against licensed tourism operators who breach other written laws.

The ministry stressed that it takes seriously any violation of legal provisions by licensed tourism operators, particularly those involving religious travel arrangements, as such breaches can jeopardise the welfare and interests of Malaysian pilgrims.

“MOTAC remains committed to strict enforcement against tourism operators who fail to comply with the law, in line with efforts to safeguard the welfare and interests of the Malaysian public,” the statement said.

The suspension was issued in accordance with Section 8 of the Tourism Industry Act 1992. — DayakDaily
