KUCHING, 4 Oct: Yang di-Elder of Sarawak State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar today attended the 2026 Sarawak Zoning Exit Suspension Council which brought together about 6,000 congregations to strengthen faith, charity and ministry.
The three-day event started on October 2 at Surau Darul Muttaqin, Jalan Depo Link and brought together Muslims from different areas through the science, tazkirah, prayer and ukhuwah strengthening program.
According to Astana Sarawak's statement today, Tun Wan Junaidi also had the opportunity to listen to Bayan Hidayat delivered by Amir Syura Jemaah Dakwah Malaysia, Abdullah Chong.
"The appointment touches on the importance of strengthening faith, enhancing charity and preaching efforts as well as respecting Muslims' responsibilities in daily life", according to the statement.
Astana Sarawak explained that the promotion of ijtimak was also a vehicle to strengthen understanding and appreciation of Islamic teachings, as well as fostering cultural development and friendship among Muslims.
The meeting ended with the recitation of a prayer asking for Allah's blessing, forgiveness and guidance.
Also attended by Deputy High Priest of Sarawak, Mohamad Ihsan Haidzir, Deputy Director (Operation) of the Islamic Religious Department of Sarawak (JAIS), and Shaifuddin Wan Madihi and Chief Executive Officer Darul Hana Quranic Centre (DHQ-c) of the Muslim Council of Sarawak (MIS), Mohamad Shalahudin Marzuki.-TVS
