KUCHING (March 11): Two temporary flood relief centres (PPS) remain in operation in Kuching district following the incessant rain on Tuesday.
As of 8am on Wednesday, the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Sarawak reported that PPS Dewan R-Piang and PPS Dewan Masyarakat Stapok, which were opened on Tuesday, are currently sheltering 341 evacuees from 91 families.
Of the total, PPS Dewan R-Piang is accommodating 116 people from 24 families from Kampung Sinar Budi Baru, while PPS Dewan Masyarakat Stapok is sheltering 225 people from 67 families from Kampung Desa Wira along Jalan Desa Wira.
APM Sarawak said the number of evacuees at PPS Dewan Masyarakat Stapok has decreased, while the number of evacuees at PPS Dewan R-Piang remains unchanged.
