TYT attends thanksgiving prayer ceremony for state-level King’s birthday celebration

KOTA SAMARAHAN (Sept 7): Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi attended the thanksgiving prayer service held last night at Masjid Al-Muttaqin, Kota Samarahan here in conjunction with the Sarawak-level celebration of the King’s birthday.

Wan Junaidi was welcomed by Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi, who is the minister-in-charge of the celebration, along with his deputy Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

Also in attendance were Sarawak Islamic Council president Datuk Misnu Taha, Sarawak Grand Imam Datuk Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi and Sarawak Mufti Datu Kipli Yassin.

After performing the Maghrib prayer, Wan Junaidi and his wife joined the congregation in reciting the Surah Yassin and offering a thanksgiving prayer led by Mustapha. Subsequently, Kipli delivered a special ‘tazkirah’ titled ‘Kesetiaan dalam Kepimpinan’ (Loyalty in Leadership).

After the Isyak prayer, Wan Junaidi joined the congregation in the Zikir Marhaban.

He later attended a dinner with the attendees of the thanksgiving ceremony.

Also present were some 1,000 congregants, including Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and the Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah.
