TYT graces State Banquet for Speakers’ conference

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, attended the State Banquet in conjunction with the 2024 Conference of Speakers of Parliament and State Legislative Assemblies of Malaysia.

The event was held at a prominent hotel in Kuching last night (Sept 13).

Also in attendance were the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, along with his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.

Sarawak was selected as the host for this year’s conference, the last of which was held in the state 28 years ago.

The conference gathered 15 Speakers, 14 Deputy Speakers, a Chief Administrator of Parliament, and 12 Secretaries from the Dewan Negara, Dewan Rakyat, and State Legislative Assemblies across Malaysia.

Among the distinguished guests present were the President of the Dewan Negara Senator Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Johari Abdul, and the Speaker of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar.

The event was further enlivened by traditional dance and singing performances by local Sarawak artists, showcasing the uniqueness and richness of the state’s culture.

Also present at the event were the Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, and his wife, Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang.
