TYT’s heart goes out to victims of Sibu fire

SIBU: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, expressed sympathies to the families affected by the fire in Kampung Hilir here yesterday (Sept 22).

“My wife and I are deeply saddened by the tragedy in Kampung Hilir, where homes were lost in yesterday afternoon’s fire.

“We extend our condolences to the families affected, as the losses they have endured cannot be measured in monetary terms.

“We hope that all those impacted remain strong in facing this challenge,” he said in a statement on his official Facebook page today.

Wan Junaidi also urged the government and relevant authorities to take prompt action to provide assistance and alleviate the burden on the victims.

The fire left more than 150 individuals from 17 houses in Kampung Hilir homeless.

The cause of the fire and the estimated losses are still under investigation.
