KUCHING (Aug 27): Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar will grace the Sarawak-level Maulidur Rasul celebration in Mukah on Sept 16.

Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) president Datuk Misnu Taha was cited in a Sarawak Public Communications Unit report as saying that the Governor will attend the event with wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

“I have approached the Yang di-Pertua Sarawak regarding our invitation for him to attend the Maulidur Rasul celebration which will be held in Mukah this year, and he has agreed to attend,” he said.

Misnu mentioned this to reporters after leading the Maulidur Rasul celebration committee in a courtesy visit to Astana Negeri yesterday.

Among those present were Telian assemblyman Royston Valentine and Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi.
