Upgraded Sg Aping cemetery road to facilitate funeral-related matters, says rep

SELANGAU (Sept 27): A project to upgrade the Sungai Aping cemetery road along Jalan Selangau-Bintulu here has been completed.

Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira hoped the concrete road would facilitate the local residents in carrying out funeral-related matters.

“This initiative was taken in response to the complaints of residents who often faced difficulties during funeral ceremonies due to the condition of the damaged and unpaved road,” he said in a post on the DUN N59 Tamin Facebook page.

A ceremony to hand over the project took place Wednesday and was witnessed by Councillor Nyireng Saleh, representing Gira.

Also present were a Sibu Drainage and Irrigation Department representative and the project’s contractor.

The project was implemented under the rural transformation programme for Tamin constituency.
