Bukit Aman CID director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said he felt "disgusted" after learning about the findings of the investigation into Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB)

The seasoned investigator, while leaving a press conference led by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, was approached by a Berita Harian reporter for a comment on the GISB investigation.

"As usual, I cannot say much [about the case] and I will not comment further... All I can say is... in this case, I am disgusted by the findings [of the investigation]," the Malay daily quoted him as saying.

He chose not to elaborate further.

The authorities had raided GISB welfare homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan and rescued 402 minors from alleged exploitation. The victims, 201 boys and 201 girls aged between 1 and 17, are all locals.

Following the police raid, GISB executive chairman and CEO Datuk Nasiruddin Mohd Ali acknowledged in a video that "one or two" cases of sodomy occurred in its welfare homes.

"There were sodomy cases, but one or two [cases], why are these being lumped together?," the GISB head said while questioning the authorities for removing the 402 children from its "care".

Earlier, GISB had denied allegations of child exploitation.

Meanwhile, the investigation into GISB is shaping up into a probe of an organised crime syndicate, with the top management of the company being placed on a no-fly list, according to Razarudin.

Razarudin said there was a clear organisational structure involved in these welfare homes.

"Our investigations show that the company posted one manager to supervise several homes per zone. Our checks revealed that these 'abang and kakak' in charge were aged between 17 and 20," he said.
