KUCHING: If you are planning to empower yourselves with better financial management then enrol for the ‘My Money and Me’ programme which will be held this Saturday (Oct 5).
According to Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC) Sarawak chapter chairman KC Kong, the said programme will focus on sustainable finance for the public and youths aiming to improve their behaviour in personal finances management.
“This programme is on ‘be smart about money’ which is divided into four components of financial planning namely asset protection, asset accumulation, asset management, and asset distribution.
“It is supported by Financial Education Network, an inter-agency grouping co-chaired by Bank Negara Malaysia and Securities Commission Malaysia and with members comprising Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia, Employees Provident Fund, Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency, and Permodalan Nasional Berhad,” he said.

In addition to the programme, he said that the MFPC is also organising various programmes throughout the year including free consultation session in collaboration with financial planning providers and financial services organisations while also co-operating with the relevant regulatory authorities, including Bank Negara Malaysia and Securities Commission Malaysia, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Malaysian Youth Council in the development and promotion of the importance of having proper personal financial plans.
