KUCHING, Jan 28: Residents and businesses along Jalan Bayor Bukit here and in surrounding areas are expected to experience low water pressure or a complete water supply disruption on Thursday, Jan 29, due to planned pipe relocation works.
In a notice issued today, Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd (SWSB) Southern Region said the interruption will take place from 10am until about 5pm, as crews carry out works to relocate a 12-inch AC main pipe to facilitate the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) project at Jalan Bayor Bukit.
Affected areas include all lorong along Jalan Bayor Bukit, as well as the Tabuan Jaya Commercial Centre and nearby localities.
Sarawak Water said water tankers will be mobilised if necessary to mitigate the impact on affected consumers.
Road users are advised to exercise caution when travelling along the affected stretch during the repair period and to comply with all traffic management measures put in place for safety.
The utility expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and advised consumers requiring further information to contact Sarawak Water Supply Board (Southern Region) Call Centre at 082-222333 or WhatsApp 019-8886650. — DayakDaily
