Woman sustains injuries in three-vehicle collision

KUCHING: A road accident involving three vehicles occurred this afternoon near the Kuching Outer Ring Road, resulting in a 27-year-old woman being trapped in her car and sustaining injuries.

The accident, which involved a container truck, a long lorry, and a Proton Saga vehicle, happened at 4.39 pm.

A team from the Kota Samarahan Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) was dispatched to the scene and arrived at 4.54 pm and successfully extracted the woman who was trapped inside her Proton Saga.

Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) personnel from Kota Samarahan provided immediate first aid to the victim before transporting her to the Sarawak Heart Centre for further treatment. The extent of her injuries is yet to be confirmed.

The fire department also conducted cleanup operations to clear the debris from the crash site, ensuring the area was safe before concluding their operation at 5.50 pm.
