SIBU: Farley Sibu Supermarket (Farley Sibu) is delighted with the overwhelming success of the Children’s Colouring Contest held at its premises in Jalan Salim here yesterday (July 21), with an impressive turnout of 1,350 young artists.
Farley Sibu human resources executive Sie Sing Ying described the event as truly embodied the essence of creativity and community.
“This year marked the Farley Sibu’s 18th edition of the annual Children’s Colouring Contest, featuring three categories of Group A (Primary four to six), Group B (Primary one to three), and Group C (Kindergarten).
“Each group competed for a variety of prizes, including first, second, and third place awards, as well as consolation and encouraging prizes in each category,” said Sie, who is also the organising chairperson.
The first prize for each category is a RM700 bike, RM500 hamper and trophy; second prize of a RM600 bike, RM400 hamper, and trophy; and third prize of a RM500 bike, RM300 hamper and trophy.
Whereas there are 10 consolation prizes of hamper worth RM200 and trophy, each, as well as 10 encouragement prizes of hamper worth RM150 and medal, each.
Sie said these enticing rewards were designed to recognise and inspire the artistic abilities of the young participants, fostering a spirit of creativity and accomplishment throughout the event.
“In addition to the colourful displays of creativity, attendees enjoyed exciting exhibitions at Farley Stage, including a Bomba Fire Truck display as well as a police mobile patrol vehicle and ‘Unit Rondaan Bermotosikal’ exhibition.
“Moreover, KPJ Sibu provided free basic health and eye screenings, and John Lau the Clown’s show delighted attendees of all ages.
“Today’s event success would not have been possible without the dedication of our participants, the general support of our sponsors, and hard work of our staff. Their contributions ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone involved,” Sie added.
Meanwhile in the contest’s category A, Tiong Li Wen emerged as the champion, followed by Yong Tian Jun, second, and Joey Loh Zhi Xuan, third.
For category B, the top prize winner went to Vivian Teng Jia En, Sharon Wong Sie Yu for the first runner-up and Alice Law Yi Fei, second runner-up.
Edlyn Yong Yann Ru, Chaleston Ting Meng Hao and Esther Lau Yue Ning took the top three placings respectively.
