Kuala Lumpur police will be closing several roads in the city for the coronation of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong at the Istana Negara this Saturday, 20 July
In a statement yesterday, 15 July, Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa said 14 roads will be closed in stages to ensure the coronation ceremony goes smoothly.
Road users are advised to avoid these routes to prevent traffic congestion, and to follow the instructions of policemen who will be on duty, he said.
He added that 387 policemen will be deployed to escort VIPs and manage traffic.
The roads will be closed from 8am to 8pm to accommodate guests attending the coronation and related events

Jalan Raja Chulan
Jalan Ampang
Jalan Sultan Ismail
Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar
Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim
Jalan Semantan
Jalan Damansara
Jalan Istana
Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway
Jalan Kuching (south bound)
Dato Onn roundabout
Jalan Parlimen
