KUCHING (Aug 3): A total of 49 new students enrolled for the Information Technology Certificate and Landscape Certificate full-time courses at the Mas Gading Community College in Bau on Aug 2.
In a press release today, the community college said these students would undergo the programmes for two years, or four semesters.
Mas Gading Community College director Khalid Husseine Tuah said the quota for the Information Technology Certificate course was 60 students and 30 students for the Landscape Certificate course.
Of the 49 new enrolments, 30 opted for the Information Technology Certificate Course while 19 opted for the Landscape Certificate course
“Registration for these courses is still open until Aug 28. Students who have completed their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations are encouraged to apply for them at our college.
“Mas Gading Community College is one of the government-owned institutions that provides a platform for students who are less successful in the SPM exam to continue their studies, especially in the aspect of innovative technical skills, after which they can pursue their studies at a higher level such as at polytechnic,” he said.
Khalid appealed to those who did not excel in SPM to acquire technical skills and hands-on training at a community college in line with the government’s aspiration to produce highly-skilled and innovative workforce.
At the enrolment event yesterday, a briefing and question-and-answer session was held by the college’s Student Recruitment Unit for the parents.
The session touched on student scholarships, basic facilities at the college and the welfare of students throughout their studies at the college.
