SIBU (July 16): The Sibu Women’s Peace Police Squad (Amanita) visited the Sibu Central Market today to convey crime prevention messages to hawkers and the public.

In a statement, Amanita said the visit sought to create anti-crime awareness within the community, especially women.

“We also educate women on how to protect themselves to avoid becoming victims of criminal activities as well as facing crime problems in their workplace,” said the statement.

Amanita said it also seeks to strengthen cooperation with the public.

“Through such activities, we hope to build closer rapport between the people and the police,” added the statement.
