KUALA LUMPUR (July 16): A civil servant has been remanded for seven days to assist the investigation into the murder of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah, who was found dead in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor yesterday evening.

Hulu Selangor deputy police chief DSP Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said the remand order on the 26-year-old man was issued by Sessions Court Judge Nurul Mardhiah Mohammed Redza to assist the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

“The suspect is remanded for seven days from today to assist investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” he said when contacted here today.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan was reported as saying yesterday that the body of Nur Farah Kartini, 25, was found at about 6pm in an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor.

According to Hussein, following that, police arrested the woman’s boyfriend to assist investigation.

Nur Farah Kartini, who was from Sarawak and a former student of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), was last seen wearing a blue corporate blouse, headscarf, and a pair of black pants. — Bernama
