KUCHING (July 25): The construction of the new SK Pulo is expected to be completed by February next year.
According to Utility and Telecommunication Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, the project is funded by the Sarawak government through the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA).
He mentioned the school building is anticipated to be operational by April or May next year.
“This school will have 30 classrooms to accommodate 900 students, as well as provide three classes for 75 preschool students,” he said.
He said this in a statement after inspecting the construction site of the new school building in the Darul Hana development area on Wednesday.
Dr Abdul Rahman, who is Pantai Damai assemblyman, noted the school will be categorised as a smart school with smart classrooms.
“This smart technology involves school management, education systems, a cashless transaction system for the canteen and a scan-in system to record students’ attendance,” he explained.
Additionally, he said the school will be equipped with an indoor hall that can accommodate 375 people at one time and an open sports court.
“I hope the school will produce many excellent students in both academic and extracurricular activities, as well as become one of the best schools in Sarawak in the future.
“Thank you to the Sarawak government for building this state-of-the-art school,” he added.
