MIRI: No one has been arrested following an incident at the Miri Indoor Stadium last night (August 21) where a bottle and a cup were thrown into the arena.

Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed that a police report was filed by a member of the technical committee overseeing the Malaysia Games (SUKMA).

However, Alexson declined to disclose the name of the individual who made the report.

“The report was received from a technical committee member, but I am unable to reveal his identity,” he said during a press conference at the Miri Indoor Stadium today.

He said investigations will proceed under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.

Despite the incident, Alexson reassured the public that security around the stadium has been strengthened.

“We have increased the number of officers on duty to ensure the stadium remains secure. At this time, there is no cause for concern, as the premises is under tight security,” he said.

He also confirmed that no threats or reports of individuals attempting to use fake passes have been received.

Alexson said the viral video of the incident circulating on social media will be reviewed and investigated by the police.
