Early morning fire partially destroys eatery kitchen in Kuching

KUCHING (July 16): Firefighters were summoned to an eatery located on the first floor of a commercial centre along Jalan Tun Datuk Patinggi Haji Ahmad Zaidi Adruce here early this morning after a fire broke out in the kitchen area.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement said firefighters from the Batu Lintang and Padunga fire stations were rushed to the scene following a distress call received at 4.58am.

“The fire involved the kitchen area of the eatery which was partially destroyed,” it said.

The firefighters managed to extinguish the fire using the offensive technique and overhaul works were carried out to ensure the fire would not reignite.

The operation ended at 6.20am.
