KUCHING: The Regional Corridor Development Agency (RECODA) conducted a site visit to the Traditional Saguk Roasted Sago Pearls Processing Buildings in Tellian as part of the COMMUNITY@SCORE initiative yesterday (July 13).
The visit aimed to evaluate the state of traditional Saguk Roasted Sago Pearls processing facilities within the Tellian constituency.
“The purpose was to identify necessary infrastructure improvements and to plan coordinated actions to boost productivity and processing quality,” said RECODA in a statement.
The delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Mukah MP, Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib.
During the visit, Hanifah emphasised the collective responsibility to preserve and pass down traditional cuisine through generations.
This effort will indirectly stimulate the local economy, especially in Mukah, she said.
She also called for enhanced cooperation among various stakeholders to maintain the quality and increase the productivity of the traditional Saguk industry.
