MIRI (July 13): Junior Chamber International (JCI) Riam recently hosted an orientation programme focusing on ice-breaking activities to forge good relations between new and existing members of its chapter.
Event organising chairman Kenny Hii said as compared to the chapter’s formal training or workshop sessions, this orientation programme brings together new and existing members in a more casual environment, fostering a more comfortable interaction to ease new members into the organisation.
During the one-day programme, participants engaged in activities such as numerous games and sharing sessions designed for new members to understand the organisation.
“As the programme concluded, we can see it has created a more fruitful experience for participants. We hope to have inspired the new members to participate in upcoming JCI events,” said Hii.
He added that the support of current chapter members is crucial as it is the cornerstone for growing JCI’s movement.
It continues to encourage young people between the ages of 18 to 40 to join their ranks along with opportunities for personal development, community service and leadership training, as its mission is to empower young active citizens to create positive change in their communities.
To join, contact JCI Riam president Choo Chin Yii at 010-409 6262.
