KUCHING, Jan 25: Kuching City FC’s 2-0 victory over Penang FC in the Malaysia Cup quarter-finals not only highlighted the team’s growing strength in the league but also reinforced pride among Sarawak football fans, said Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
“This is a proud moment for Sarawak. Kuching FC is always seen as representing Sarawak, and the support from fans shows how much the people value our team.
“Their performance reflects the rising quality of football in the land of the hornbills,” he told reporters ahead of the trial run of the new Kuching Metro electric bus routes from Electra House here today.
He added that the victory was a testament to the team’s development and growing competitiveness, and congratulated team manager Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman for guiding the club to success.
“The team did Sarawak proud last night, and it is encouraging to see our players excel on the national stage.
