Man feared drowned after boat capsizes near SK Nanga Balang in Kapit

KUCHING, June 1: A 32-year-old man is feared to have drowned after the boat he was in capsized near SK Nanga Balang in Kapit today.

In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 9.28am, and firefighters from the Kapit station were deployed.

It was noted that during the incident, seven passengers were on the boat when it capsized.

“Six passengers were reported to be safe and accounted for, except for the victim,” said the report.

A search and rescue (SAR) operation has been mounted to locate the victim, identified as Spielberg Dylan Sekunyir. — DayakDaily
