KUCHING (Nov 1): A fire destroyed two houses in Kampung Semerah Padi in Petra Jaya here around midnight today.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said a report on the incident was received at 12.12am.
Firefighters from the Padungan and Petra Jaya fire stations were deployed to the scene.
“The fire destroyed two houses in the village. All residents managed to escape.
“Firefighters then proceeded to extinguish the fire,” Bomba said in a statement.
The operation ended at 2.26am.
The cause of the fire and estimated losses have yet to be established.
