KUCHING (Aug 3): Deputy Minister of International Trade, Industry and Investment Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh led a Sarawak delegation to visit the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (Kosme) in Seoul, South Korea on Friday.
In a press release issued by his ministry, the visit aimed to develop joint initiatives focused on strengthenin the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
It explained this was to support the digital transformation in Sarawak aligning with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0)while enhancing the efficiency and market reach of SMEs.
Kosme is a South Korean government-affilitated organisation established to nurture innovative enterprises.
It aims to strengthen global competitiveness of Korean SMEs for export expansion and diversification while pioneering the startup ecosystem to align with IR4.0 and digital transformation.
“Kosme initiated a programme known as the Youth Startup Academy, which aims to provide a comprehensive supporting environment for young entrepreneurs and empower them to turn their innovative ideas into successful and sustainable businesses,” it said.
