One-third of the 855 public works department’s (JKR) ongoing projects nationwide are behind schedule, says deputy works minister Ahmad Maslan.
Of that number, 35, or 4.1%, have been classified as “sick projects”, Borneo Post reported.
Ahmad said projects are classified as delayed if they are more than 30 days behind schedule, or more than 10% short of scheduled progress.
He said another one-third of the projects are progressing according to schedule, while the rest are ahead of schedule.
He urged JKR officers to expedite the delayed projects, stressing the importance of timely delivery.
Ahmad said the ministry will continue to monitor project implementation to ensure timely completion, maintain quality standards, and prevent further delays.
