MIRI (July 27): The Seventh Northern Sarawak Expedition, ongoing until July 30, involves 150 participants including those from Sabah, Brunei, Indonesia and even from Switzerland.

The flag-off of the 65 four-wheel-drive vehicles (4WDs) at Jinhold Hotel and Apartment near Miri Airport today was conducted by federal Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh, together with Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu.

According to event’s organising chairman Daud Wan Jalong, the four-day offroad expedition would see the participants venturing into the town of Lawas.

“For the seventh year, and being one of the important off-road events in Sarawak, we will be visiting the Busak Siran 4×4 trail.

“This year, we will be focusing on raising environmental awareness among our participants and we are thrilled to have international participants with us as we are doing this,” said Daud.
