Op Motosikal: 18 traffic summonses issued in Bau

KUCHING (Dec 22): A police operation in Bau on Dec 20 saw a total of 18 summonses issued for a variety of traffic-related offences.

Bau police chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the Op Motosikal operation, conducted in the town area and along Jalan Krokong-Seropak, ran from 6pm till 11pm.

“A total of 35 motorcycles and 41 individuals were inspected throughout the operation, with 18 summonses issues for various offences,” he said in a statement.

Mohd Haide said the offences included having no side mirrors, plate numbers not according to regulation, illegal exhaust modifications, no driving licence, expired road tax, illegal structure modifications, no front brake, and not wearing helmets.

He called on vehicle owners in the district to abide by traffic rules and regulations and prioritise their safety on the road.

He also urged parents to monitor their children against getting involved in illegal motoring activities.
