Police issue 44 traffic summonses

SIBU: Police issued 44 summonses to motorists during an operation codenamed ‘Op Samseng Jalan/Motosikal’ at Sibu Jaya and Sibu Airport road on Friday.

According to Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, a total of 29 men aged 15 to 23, were inspected during the operation from 9.30 pm to 4 am.

“Offences ranged from driving without a licence, no side mirror, possessing expired road tax, lacking insurance cover, failing to display plate numbers as per specifications, and modified exhaust systems and vehicle structures,” he said in a statement today (July 13).

Zulkipli also said that nine motorcycles were confiscated for documentation purposes.

He urged the public to adhere to traffic regulations for the safety and well-being of all road users.
