KUCHING: The Sarawak government aims to achieve full online service delivery by 2030.

Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunications Datuk Liwan Lagang said the initiative seeks to streamline business processes and enhance public investment opportunities.

“By 2030, we aim to achieve 100 per cent online service delivery and improved ease of doing business.

“Therefore, Sarawak will need to ensure that appropriate policies and processes are in place.

“These include policies and readiness in technology adoption, data management, cloud strategy, diversification of service providers, ICT workforce development, and of course, cyber security,” he said during the Cyber Security Workshop organised by the Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) at the Waterfront Hotel, here today.

The Belaga assemblyman added that at present Sarawak’s government services are accessible online by 35 per cent.

“With the right policies and readiness, Sarawak should be able to achieve 100 per cent online service delivery by 2030,” he said.

Liwan stressed that it is crucial to increase uptake and awareness among both the public and private sectors to enhance the cyber security ecosystem.

He applauded SMA for taking the lead by organising this workshop to kickstart these efforts.

The initiative includes providing cyber security policies, guidelines, and best practices for the government, businesses, and the public, as well as developing and delivering comprehensive cyber security awareness programs.

“Ultimately, we aim for 100 per cent secured online activities through digital economy platforms by 2030,” he said.
