According to a statement, the trip is being supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) Sarawak as part of efforts to nurture local talent and promote Sarawak’s presence on the international stage.

Taylor has earned recognition through several international music competitions, including receiving the Exceptional Young Talent Award in Paris, France, in December 2025.

As Malaysia’s sole representative at the New York International Golden Classical Music Awards, she will join young musicians and performers from countries including the United States, South Korea, the Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Brazil, India, China, Ukraine, Costa Rica, Israel, France, Russia, Taiwan, Croatia, Türkiye, the Netherlands, Canada, Switzerland, Indonesia and Australia.

She will also carry both the Sarawak and Malaysian flags at the event, marking another milestone in her musical journey.

Taylor expressed her gratitude to the Sarawak government, particularly Abdul Karim and MTCP Sarawak, for their support in making the trip possible.

She also thanked Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian for their words of encouragement and support.

“As a young singer from Sarawak, it is a great honour to represent both Sarawak and Malaysia on one of the world’s most prestigious stages.

“I am deeply grateful to MTCP Sarawak and everyone who has supported me on this journey. I will continue to work hard and give my very best,” she said.

Taylor also acknowledged the support of her parents, vocal coach Sabrina Tnay, members of the media and others who have contributed to her musical development.

She is scheduled to depart for New York on July 6 for rehearsals and award-related activities before performing at the event later that week.

Taylor said she hopes her journey will inspire more young Malaysians to dream big, work hard and pursue excellence while proudly representing Sarawak on the global stage. — DayakDaily
