School achieves milestone in digital transformation

KUCHING: SJK Chung Hua No. 5 Kuching has been recognised as a Microsoft Elevate Showcase School for the 2026-2027 cycle.

The recognition marks a milestone in the school’s digital transformation efforts and places it among an international network of schools using technology to enhance teaching and learning.

The Microsoft Elevate Showcase School recognition is awarded to schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to integrating technology into education and school leadership while equipping students with future-ready skills.

The school said the achievement reflected the collective efforts of its board of management, headmistress Tay Kok Ing and teaching staff in advancing digital learning.

“We remain committed to nurturing confident, creative and technologically adept learners prepared to thrive in an increasingly digital world,” the school said in a statement today.

It credited the board for its continued support and strategic guidance in advancing digital initiatives, while teachers had embraced innovative teaching practices and integrated technology into daily lessons.

The school also acknowledged the Kuching District Education Office for its encouragement and support in facilitating programmes aimed at strengthening digital competency within the school community.

Moving forward, it plans to further expand its digital learning ecosystem, strengthen professional development for teachers and provide more engaging, future-focused learning experiences for students.
