Sukma XXI: S’wak badminton mixed doubles pair Jeremy-Genevie advances to q-finals

SIBU (Aug 22): Sarawak badminton mixed doubles pair Jeremy Juan Zhen Liang and Genevie Lim Tsin Yeen marched into the quarter finals after defeating Melaka’s Lee Yen Wei and Sharini Shahidi at the 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma).

Sarawak won with 21-17 in the first set and 21-11 in the second set.

The pair will face Selangor’s Lee Yu Shan and Mohammad Adam Shaz Mohd Shazlan tomorrow.

Earlier, Sarawak women’s doubles pair April Lee Tong-Nurin Izzah Qistina Norman lost to Federal Territory’s pair Amanda Yap Hwa Leng and Ong Xin Yee in straight sets 21-11 and 21-12.

Another Sarawak’s women’s double pair Kashley Kho Tze Yin and Lee Zi Suen also lost to Clarissa San Yee Weng and Ho Lo ee from Selangor.

Selangor won the match with a score of 21-10 and 21-12.
