The landfill has attracted the attention of MPKS

KOTA SAMARAHAN, 8 Oct: Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) takes follow-up action against complaints of illegal dumping on a private land in its administrative area.

Following complaints received yesterday, MPKS together with the landowners and Samarahan Division Health Office conducted a site visit to review the situation in the area as well as discuss solutions.

According to the MPKS statement, as a result of the visit and discussions, the landowners agreed to take some measures to address the issue.

"He closed the corridor that provides access to the area, installed a garbage ban warning sign and carried out clean-up and landfill work.

"MPKS will carry out periodic monitoring to ensure that the agreed measures are implemented within the stipulated deadline", according to the statement.

The public is also urged not to dispose of garbage illegally or in unauthorized locations as such practices could harm sanitation, public health and environmental quality.

Cooperation of all parties is essential to ensure that waste disposal issues can be effectively addressed and the environment in MPKS administration area remains clean and well preserved.-TVS
