“Additionally, several special initiatives of the Budget were also announced for the KPN which include the allocation of RM50 million for the implementation of the Unity, National Integration, and Harmony programme to foster a spirit of unity and national identity.
“RM20 million has been set aside to empower the role of the Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (Neighborhood Watch Areas) as a connector within the community.
“The ministry will also allocate RM15 million for the digitisation of national heritage materials in efforts to strengthen the digitalisation of public service delivery, while RM10 million has been earmarked for the renovation and maintenance of unity premises to enhance public services to the people,” it said.
It said that through this allocation, KPN will continue to strengthen the direction of national unity through the implementation of various initiatives and programmes that can sustain the unity of the people while fostering harmony among the multi-racial society.
“KPN is confident that the presentation of this budget aligns with the aspirations of the 12th Malaysia Plan, which targets a National Unity Index of 0.7 per cent by 2025.
“The implementation of various programmes is crucial in creating an integrated foundation that can enhance interaction among people of various races and religions,” it said.
Meanwhile, National Unity Minister Datuk Seri Aaron Ago Dagang said Budget 2025 emphasises the principle of inclusivity, taking into account the needs of all Malaysians of various races, religions, and cultures.
“This inclusivity is crucial to ensure that no group is left behind, thus strengthening the unity and harmony of the nation,” he said.
