Wan Junaidi officiates Sarawak Day 2024 thanksgiving ceremony in Bintulu

BINTULU (July 22): Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar presided over the thanksgiving ceremony in celebration of Sarawak Day 2024 at the Assyakirin Mosque here yesterday.

Upon his arrival at 6:40pm, Wan Junaidi was welcomed by Sarawak Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi, who represented Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

The evening began with the Maghrib congregation prayer, followed by the Yassin recital and a thanksgiving prayer.

Adding to the significance of the occasion, Sarawak Mufti Datu Kipli Yassin delivered special talks titled ‘Synergy between leaders and citizens toward a prosperous Sarawak.’

The Isyak prayer followed, marking the conclusion of the evening’s religious observances.

Following the thanksgiving ceremony, Wan Junaidi attended a dinner reception with other dignitaries present.

Before departing, the Head of State also mingled with the attendees.

Wan Junaidi and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi will join the Sarawakians for the Sarawak Day gathering this evening at the Old Bintulu Airport site, continuing the spirit of unity and pride for Sarawak.

Among those in attendance were Deputy Premier Sarawak Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas; Speaker of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar; Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and the Resident of Bintulu Division Nyurak Keti.
